JavaScript is a programming system for
web pages that allows special features to be done that are not possible
with straight web page code alone. Examples:
- All the menus at the top of this
page were written in-house for site navigation.
- The presentation of this page (open
and close sections) is JavaScript controlled and is turning out
to be a great way to break down long pieces of information into
"bite-sized" (readable) chunks.
- Even the tiny email form at the bottom
of the page uses JavaScript to identify the page visitors are
responding to (by name).

PHP (PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor)
is a programming language used to create applications on a website's server
that are used within web pages. MySQL is a database system used to
store/retrieve data; typically the method of choice for saving data entered
into PHP programs.
Examples:

top of this page is a random selection from web-based quotes that is
inserted dynamically into this page. The online application includes full
Administrative component, allowing addition of new quotes, removal of
quotes and a fully-integrated text processor.
- This entire website is PHP based (see
your browser's address box; all pages end with a .php file
extension).

The ability to make website software work within a website‘s design is called -- Integration. Essentially that means that when visitors use the function, it appears as an integral part of the website‘s design and not as a separate "stand-alone" process.
The value of such a technique cannot be
overstated. Most designers install special packages (such as a shopping
cart, blog or wiki) and leave it at that: whatever the display looks like
is what the visitor sees (an rarely anything like the rest of the
website).
Savvy Internet visitors perceive this approach as
"disjointed," amateurish and confusing.
Integration keeps the visitor on the main
website so they never get "lost."

Unless specified otherwise, all
programming is based on a charge of $100/hour, one hour minimum and
additional time over 1 hour billed in 15 minutes increments. Proposals for
several work options performed at one time will include a cost savings of
approximately 20%.
